Snow Day

This week has started very easily! On Monday we had 2 hour delay in school because it snowed on last Sunday. I went to my normal evening walk on Sunday and there was no one outside, except a couple of cars driving really slowly! I was literally the only person walking there, I guess everybody just wanted to stay warm inside of their houses :D 

Like I said in the earlier post, we started decorating our house right after Thanksgiving! We got the Christmas tree on the first of December. For me it's a little different, because in my family in Finland we usually get our Christmas tree just a couple of days before the Christmas Eve. I'm really looking forward to the holidays, I love this Christmassy atmosphere so much. Especially now when we have a little bit of snow on the ground, it definitely makes it feel more like a Christmas :) I've already done all the Christmas shopping, the Holiday Concert is on this weekend and there are only eight days of school until it's holiday!

Today it was supposed to be like a normal school day and I woke up first at 5.30am. I had a little headache, so I decided to go back to sleep for an hour, because I still would have had time to go to  our Concert Choir rehearsal at 7am. Then I woke up at 6.30 and checked the school website and they said we would have a 2 hour delay again. I went back to sleep, of course, and then the third time that I woke up, they said that the school's closed today! What a happy feeling, I got to sleep a bit longer! Last night we had rehearsals until 9.30pm, so this Snow Day is a perfect day to relax. If there is going to be a lot of Snow Days in future, we have to make-up those days at the end of the school year... So I prefer those 2 hour delays, they still are counted as a full school day! I's kind of funny to stay home because of a little snow, because this would never happen in Finland! Otherwise we would have holiday for four months during the winter time :) Well, I'm enjoying this as much as I can, we are going to watch a couple of movies and maybe go sleight riding later :D
