Snapshots

Packet from home <3 Including for example rye bread, new candies, salty licorice, and souvenirs from Dubai! I haven't seen TimTams anywhere almost in 5 or 6 years, our friend from Australia used to send those cookies for us :D Also got some gifts for my host family.

Not really the best picture, but at least something! It's from the first musical costume parade that we had. That's something like one of my outfits is going to look like. My dress got changed to a darker blue, and we are possibly have belts on our waists to make it look more like a fifties style.

More dresses!

This was a couple of days after the "snowstorm". How people are supposed to cross the street if there is more than a 3 feet of snow in front of them :D

And Finland who won bronze in hockey! How sweet it was to win 5-0 against USA :D Seems like not so many people in my school are interested in hockey like in Finland. I got so excited when some guys next to me in English class started to talk about Finland beating Russia on Wednesday, and when my social studies teacher asked if I already knew the score!

Lititz Fire and Ice

It's been a really long time since the last time I wrote something in here! A lot of different things has happened after the Super Bowl. The week after it was super strange, on Tuesday we had 2 hour delay in school and on Wednesday we had off because of freezing rain. Then we had 2 hour delay again on Thursday, and when I was in lunch the fire alarm went off and we all had to go outside. Turned out that it wasn't a fire drill but an actual fire upstairs. The rest of the day was a complete mess because no one could go upstairs and for example my study hall class was kept in cafeteria. Friday was luckily like a normal day, even though I was really tired because I already got used to the 2 hour delay schedule.

On Saturday Varpu and I went to Rachele's 18th birthday party. Also Sabina, Nora, Luisa and Ida were there. It was really nice to finally see all of these girls again.

The beginning of this week was pretty normal, including musical rehearsals and hanging out with friends. Everybody started to talk about this upcoming super big snow storm that we were going to have, and we ended up having it Wednesday night. So we had snow days on Thursday and Friday. The last day of school is now going to be 19th of June (seriously!?!?!). I have never had school on my birthday, 17th of June. Let's see how it's going to be.

By the way, I woke up 3am to watch Finland-Austria hockey game on Thursday morning. It was totally worth it! Then on Friday I woke up 5am to watch my friends prom/ballroom dancing from my high school in Finland. So beautiful dresses! If any of my friends are reading this, I hope you all had  a wonderful day!! Thanks for the snow storm I was able to watch it, and Olympics hockey too.

On Valentine's Day there was the Fire and Ice festival in Lititz where Sydney and I went to. They had these ice sculptures, a lot of food stands, and nice music. Lititz was full of people, it was also the second Friday on the same date. Later in the night we went to Sydney's and had a sleepover together.

Super Bowl

Things that made my Super Bowl weekend amazing:

Learning how to make caramel popcorn! My host mom is such an amazing cooker and this was something that I wanted her to teach me.

A lot of great food! Our family friend Lauren and her husband joined us on Sunday to share the cookings with us.

The game, Bruno Mars in the half-time show and funny commercials!

The family and friends.
